(3 hour workshop)

René Bolten has over 40 years’ experience as an arts educator and has worked regionally as art facilitator for arts organisations such as, Byron School of Art, TAFE NSW, Tweed Regional Gallery and Lismore Regional Gallery.

In this workshop, participants will work with the drawing technique that René developed ‘The Hundreds’. Drawing inspiration from the exhibition around them in the gallery space, participants will use various materials to work quickly through a ream of paper and create a collection of drawings.  These will be used to develop a more detailed painting or drawing, making the most of the fluidity of the materials and the process of this mark-making exercises.

The Gallery will provide:

+ A4 photocopy paper for 'The Hundreds' and some drawing and mark making art materials.

+ Tea and biscuits

Participants must bring:

+ A painting or drawing surface for the more detailed painting or drawing ie good paper, small canvas, card, timber, etc

+ Your preferred painting or drawing materials. Please note NO oil paints can be used in the Gallery, only acrylics.

+ Brushes and a jar for water (if using paints).
